Four years after the collaboration album between Madlib and Jay Dee first appeared, fans get a second look at CHAMPION SOUND in this deluxe re-issue on Stones Throw. Featuring two of indie rap's most talented and innovative producer-MCs going back and forth over each other's beats, CHAMPION SOUND saw both artists rising to another level. Though somewhat slept-on commercially at the time of its original release, CHAMPION SOUND is a prime example of raw underground hip-hop at its best.
